Student Alumni Ambassadors

Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) is a student-run organization sponsored by the University of Illinois Alumni Association. SAA’s role on campus is to develop positive relations and interactions among students, alumni, faculty and staff.  SAA provides an opportunity for students to realize their fullest potential for involvement and experience while at Illinois.

SAA brings together a diverse group of students from the University with a variety of interests, majors and backgrounds. These students work together to spread the enthusiasm, energy and resources of the University of Illinois to alumni and students alike while developing a lifelong connection and loyalty to the University of Illinois. 

Today, SAA has an active membership of more than 60 students who work to further the quality of the University as an institution of higher education. 

Our Mission

The purpose of SAA is to establish, foster and promote the development of beneficial relationships among the University’s students, alumni, staff, faculty and the campus community. SAA also promotes the activities of the UI Alumni Association through its programs and services to create and instill the spirit of the Illini in University of Illinois students.

How to Join SAA
SAA begins its annual membership selection in February. Membership is determined by an application and interview process in November.

Events
Throughout the year, Student Alumni Ambassadors plans several events for students, alumni and the community.  

I-Help
Each year the SAA organizes I-Help, a day-long volunteer program designed to assist multiple organizations in Champaign-Urbana and in surrounding communities.

Services
Student Alumni Ambassadors provides campus tours and assists at Alumni Association, campus and community events.

Illini Comeback Program
SAA is proud to sponsor the Illini Comeback program each year, which brings distinguished alumni back to campus for Homecoming weekend as guests of the Alumni Association and the University. Previous honorees, as well as selection criteria and nomination forms, are available here:
