Urbana Recreation Opportunities
You’ll
search far and wide to find a fitness center comparable to the recreational facilities
on the Urbana-Champaign campus. Swimming, ice skating, racquetball, squash, volleyball,
running, tennis, basketball, table tennis, badminton, cardio machines, climbing
wall, nutrition classes, massage, weight lifting, camping, kayaking and more
are all available through University of Illinois Campus Recreation.
Membership – A limited number of annual
memberships are available for Alumni Association (Sustaining or Life) members
to purchase for access to Campus Recreation facilities, including the Activities
and Recreation Center (ARC), Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE), the Ice Arena
and the Freer Hall Pool.
These annual memberships are available for the August-to-August academic year.
Alumni Association (Sustaining or Life) members who purchase a Campus Recreation
membership are eligible to rent outdoor equipment and participate in Adventure
Trips/Clinics at the same price offered to students and faculty/staff members,
along with participating in all programs (intramurals, group fitness, personal
training, etc.).
Daily Passes – Campus Recreation members,
UI students, affiliates and Alumni Association (Sustaining or Life) members may
purchase daily guest passes for themselves and up to five guests at $10/day per
person for use of any Campus Recreation facility.
Equipment Rental – Alumni Association
members may also rent outdoor equipment such as tents, backpacks, camping and
other sporting gear through the Campus Recreation Adventure Center, located at
the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC).
Adventure Trips – Campus Recreation
organizes low-cost adventure trips for students, faculty/staff members and Alumni
Association members on a space-available basis.
