Nominations for Illini Comeback are solicited from across the campus and among alumni. Selections are made by members of the Student Alumni Ambassadors. Approximately five guests per year are invited to participate in the Comeback program, and special attention is given to selecting those who represent diversity in profession, college affiliation, ethnicity, gender and age.

Illini Comeback is coordinated by the Student Alumni Ambassadors and sponsored by the University of Illinois Alumni Association. The program's purpose is to stimulate greater identity and activity among successful alumni, students and the University.

Nomination and Selection Guidelines

Nomination

1. Nominees must have earned a degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
2. Nominations from University of Illinois students, faculty, staff and alumni shall be considered.
3. Submission of supplemental information (e.g., nominee's resume, articles outlining significant accomplishments) is encouraged.
4. Nominations will remain viable for a period of three years (year submitted plus two following years). If additional information becomes available, nominators are encouraged to provide it to the Illini Comeback chairperson.
5. Nominations become the property of the University of Illinois Alumni Association (UIAA). Information in the forms may be dispersed at the discretion of the UIAA.
6. It is recommended that nominators keep a copy of the information in the completed nomination form for their own records.

Selection

1. Up to five Illini Comeback guests will be selected annually. Selection will take place in the beginning of the spring semester. Guests will return to campus for Homecoming Weekend the following fall semester.
2. Prior to the annual selection of Illini Comeback guests, the Student Alumni Ambassadors will compile a list of all viable nominees, which will be available upon request.
3. Selection and invitation of Illini Comeback guests will be made by a committee of members of the Student Alumni Ambassadors. Their top 10 choices will be reviewed by selected University of Illinois staff.
4. When guests' participation is confirmed, the colleges from which they have graduated will be notified. The Student Alumni Ambassadors will handle both correspondence with the guests and their travel arrangements and itineraries, as well as act as their hosts while the alumni are on campus. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests from colleges and departments for Illini Comeback guests to participate in selected activities.
