Student Alumni Ambassadors win 2008 Outstanding Service Award for iHelp
Congratulations to Student Alumni Ambassadors, one of the student organizations selected to receive the 2008 Outstanding Service Award. SAA has exemplified dedication to service this past academic year through iHelp, a vast volunteer project where more than 1,000 students participate in numerous activities to improve the UI campus and surrounding communities. Way to go, SAA!

The UI Alumni Association is proud to recognize several outstanding alumni who will be honored for their achievements at the May 11 Commencement at the Assembly Hall.


		The perfect venue for book lovers The Alumni Association is collaborating with the University of Illinois Library, University of Illinois Press, the Illini Union Bookstore and Dalkey Archive Press for the Printers Row Book Fair June 7-8 in Chicago. These four publishing-related units will be together under one tent to display and sell recent books, host author signings and promote University unity.


A mid-summer treat for theater goers Enjoy a performance of the popular musical “West Side Story” at The Little Theatre on the Square and dinner at the Sullivan Country Club during the heart of summer. This annual outing, which includes a bus ride to Sullivan, Ill., takes place July 20 and is $55 per person.


		‘Grand’ addition to Alice Campbell Alumni Center A much more melodious ambiance will likely permeate the Alice Campbell Alumni Center in the future, thanks to the addition of a Steinway & Sons grand piano in the Hindsley Great Room. We look forward to hosting more musical events with this professional-quality instrument, and would like to thank R. Eden Martin ’62 LAS, Bob Campbell ’54 BUS, Jill Knappenberger ’50 ACES and Dan Perrino ’48 FAA, MS ’49 FAA, for their generous support of this project.
