How to Join Student Alumni League
Our Mission
The Student Alumni League (SAL) will strive to create an environment in which
students can enrich their University experiences. Through our motto of “Service,
Spirit and Success,” we accomplish our campuswide goals.
Conditions of Eligibility
To be considered for membership in the Student Alumni League, a student must:
- Complete a membership application
- Have demonstrated leadership skills and extracurricular activities
- Interview with SAL Adviser or SAL Executive Board Member
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
- Have at least two semesters left at UIC
Expectations of Membership
Members of SAL are expected to take an active role in the organization by:
- Attending all general and committee meetings
- Participating in at least six SAL and/or UIAA events (3 per semester)
- Serving on a specified committee or taking an executive role
- $20 membership fee that includes food (fall and spring banquets), events (Homecoming Dance discount and Etiquette Dinner) and supplies (handbook and SAL Polo)

Major activities of SAL include:
- Homecoming Week
- UIC Daily
- Career Connections
- Community Outreach
Major activities of the UIAA include:
- Leadership Award Ceremonies
- Student Membership
- Alumni Volunteer Network
- Lighting of the Flame
Upon completion of the above requirements, membership in the Student Alumni League will be determined by a vote among the Executive Board and Adviser.
