How to Join Student Alumni Ambassadors
SAA offers an opportunity to network with UIC alumni, staff, faculty and students
Our Mission
Student Alumni Ambassadors is a student organization at the University of Illinois
at Chicago, which is sponsored by the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
SAA members create connections for students and alumni through leadership and
service opportunities. In addition, SAA strives to increase school pride at UIC.
Conditions of Eligibility
To be considered for membership in Student Alumni Ambassadors, a student must:
- Complete an membership application by Sept. 13
- Demonstrate leadership skills and involvement with extracurricular activities
- Interview with the SAA executive board and SAA advisor
- Maintain a cumulative GPA between 2.75 and 4.0
- Attend the SAA workshop on Saturday
- Have at least two semesters left at UIC
Expectations of Membership
SAA members are expected to take an active role in the organization by:
- Attending all general and committee meetings
- Participating in various UIAA and UIC events
- Serving on a specified committee or taking an executive role
Our Activities
Members are able to network with various alumni, staff, faculty and students
by acting as greeters and hosts at various events. Some of the major events are:
- Alumni Five dinner and awards ceremony
- UIAA Leadership Awards ceremony and brunch
- Lighting of the Flame ceremonies
- UIAA board meetings
Members are also able to plan events and play a role in increasing school pride at UIC. Major activities that SAA members are involved with include:
- Spirit Week
- Production of “UIC Daily” planner book
- Grad Finale
Upon completion of the above requirements, membership in the Student Alumni Ambassadors will be determined by a vote among the executive board and adviser.
