Alumni Volunteer Network

We want team captains for this year’s Heart Walk Since 1968, the American Heart Association has given $25,046,684 to the University of Illinois. In an effort to give back, the University of Illinois Alumni Association is looking for alumni to serve as team captains for the 2010 American Heart Association Walk in Grant Park on Friday, Sept, 24. Captains are responsible for identifying five additional people to serve as a single fundraising team to raise a total of $1,500. If you feel you have what it takes, sign up today!

Twenty easy ways alumni can get involved at UIC

1. Cheer on the UIC Flames at an athletic event.
2. Update your information on the Online Directory.  
3. Forward positive news about yourself and other UIC alumni to UIC Alumni Magazine.
4. Pass on your UIC Alumni Magazine to a friend.
5. Display the UIC Alumni Magazine in your office waiting room or reception area.
6. Wear a UIC T-shirt or sweatshirt.
7. Volunteer at the Hull House Urban Farm.
8. Make a gift to the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
9. Participate in alumni programs.
10. Search the EXPLORERS tours and travel to a place you’ve always wanted to visit.
11. Share UIC points of pride with your neighbors and friends.
12. Come back to campus and take a tour.
13. Mention the great qualities of UIC to high school students you know.
14. Encourage your company to hire fellow UIC alumni.
15. Became a fan of the Office of UIC Alumni Relations page on Facebook.
16. Join Illinois Connection and become an advocate for UIC.
17. Attend a reunion event at your college or with an affiliate group.
18. Nominate yourself and other alumni for awards.
19. Visit the new South Campus and eat at one of the many restaurants.
20. Check out the career resources available to alumni at the Alumni Career Center.
