Precious Gift Of China Brock ’93 LAS and Amy Barkley Reynolds ’94 LAS traveled to China over the holidays with their son, Preston. On Dec. 27, they welcomed a 9-year-old girl, Shaling, into their family, returning home with her to Springfield on Jan. 7. Illini relatives include Scott Coonrod ’97 ENG and Eleanor Loy Devall ’40 LAS. While in China, the family spent most of their time in Guangzhou and also briefly visited Shaling’s city of residence, Shenzhen, near Hong Kong.
