IHELP: A VOLUNTEER PROJECT

In this kickoff for Homecoming, alumni around the world are asked to volunteer in their communities in the name of Alma Mater today and throughout Homecoming Week. Volunteers are urged to pledge service time online at www.uiaa.org/ihelp and send photos and videos of their activities. Contact: Nicole Pinnella at pinnell2@illinois.edu.

ILLINI BLOCK PARTY

Alongside parade route

Family event includes games, activities, entertainment and more. Hosted by UI Alumni Associationís Student Alumni Ambassadors, the event is open to students, alumni and the community. PARADE AND PEP RALLY
6-8 p.m.
Parade runs from 6-7 p.m., starting at Sixth Street and Taft Drive in Champaign, traveling through Campustown and turning south on Mathews Avenue in Urbana to end at the Quad. Parade entry deadline: Oct. 17 or 90 entries. Contact: illinoishomecomingparade@gmail.com

All UI band alumni are invited to perform in the Homecoming Parade with the Band Alumni Network. Contact: UI Bands Alumni Network at uibandsalumni@gmail.com or visit www.uibandsalumni.org.

Pep Rally on the Quad follows the parade and features fireworks, the Marching Illini, appearances by head football coach Tim Beckman and the Fighting Illini football team, and presentations of the Homecoming Court, Illini Comeback guests and UI Alumni Associationís Lou Liay Spirit Award.
