The Unsilent World of Susan Schiefelbein
 For
more than two decades, Susan Schiefelbein ’72 MEDIA enjoyed
a remarkable working relationship with the underwater adventurer Jacques Cousteau
in helping to bring his beliefs to the written page. This month marks the 100th
anniversary of the birth of Cousteau, who counted Schiefelbein among the five

Michael J. Hogan chosen as new University president
 Michael
J. Hogan, former president of the University of Connecticut, was selected as
the 18th president of the University of Illinois. His appointment was approved
at the May 20 Board
of Trustees meeting in Chicago. Hogan holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and the
University of Iowa. He will start his position at the University on July 1.
