Illini 4000 cyclists heading out again soon
Members
of the Illini 4000 cycling team gathered on the Quad April 15 to raise funds
for cancer awareness. On hand to support the Illini 4000’s cause was Steve
Dirks ’86 LAS, CEO of the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society,
who accepted a $20,000 contribution from the group. Starting May 25, the Illini
4000 riders will begin a month-long bicycling trek from New York City to San
Francisco. Along the way, they’ll talk about how cancer impacts the lives
of Americans and offer their support to those afflicted by it. View
photos from the day at the Quad.
