Matt Winters, expert on the effectiveness of foreign
aid
The
devastating Haiti earthquake on Jan. 12 brought an immediate response from nations,
agencies and individuals anxious to help. Yet it wasn’t clear how best
to help, and aid was agonizingly slow in reaching those who needed it. In this
interview, political science professor Matt Winters discusses why aid was slow
in reaching Haiti, the best way for individuals to respond to such a disaster
and other topics related to foreign aid.
