SAL
Our Mission
The Student Alumni League (SAL) will strive to create an environment in which
students can enrich their University experiences. Through alumni engagement, campus
traditions and leadership opportunities, we will unite the UIC community and build
relationships for life.
Conditions of Eligibility
To be considered for membership in the Student Alumni League, a student must:
- Complete a membership
application (Deadline Sept.
19)
- Submit one recommendation form
- Have demonstrated leadership skills and extracurricular activities
- Interview with SAL Adviser or SAL Executive Board Member
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
- Have at least two semesters left at UIC
Expectations of Membership
Members of SAL are expected to take an active role in the organization by:
- Attending all general and committee meetings
- Participating in at least six SAL and/or UIAA events (3 per semester)
- Serving on a specified committee or taking an executive role
- $10 membership fee that includes: food (Fall and Spring Banquets), events
(Fall Ball and Etiquette Dinner) and supplies (Handbook and SAL Polo)
Activities
Major activities of SAL include:
- Fall Ball
- UIC Daily
- Community Service
- Etiquette Dinner
Major activities of the UIAA include:
- Leadership Award Ceremonies
- Collegiate Membership
- Alumni Volunteer Network
- Lighting of the Flame
Upon completion of the above requirements, membership in the Student Alumni
League will be determined by a vote among the Executive Board and Adviser.
