Alumni reach back ... it's that simple
Choosing the right college is one of the most difficult decisions anyone can make. At the University of Illinois Alumni Association, alumni can take action to help with this important decision. The Alumni Ambassador program proudly assists the UIC Office of Admissions and Records by empowering alumni to reach out to UIC-admitted high school students. These Alumni Ambassadors share their UIC experiences, encouraging the students to make the choice to attend UIC.
Alumni Ambassadors are matched with students and receive a training kit (UIC Fact Sheets, Directories, FAQs, etc.) by mail with virtually everything necessary to help them feel comfortable in conversations with students. Alumni are asked to contact each person in their group of students, complete a student interest survey afterward and return all information back to the UIAA.
Alumni Ambassadors On the Road
A recent piece has been added to the Ambassadors program that involves alumni traveling to their local high schools, college fairs and other events. They serve as UIC representatives, sharing their UIC experiences, answering various questions about the University, and encouraging prospective UIC alumni to attend. Ambassadors receive training and information prior to making their journey.
If you are interested in venturing down this road, please contact Kathleen Burke at kmburke@uic.edu .
