The UIC Corporate Connections program is a cooperative effort between the University of Illinois Alumni Association and local companies at which UIC has a strong presence of alumni and friends. With more than 70% of UIC's more than 150,000 graduates living and working in Illinois, Corporate Connections programs provide a beneficial partnership for local businesses and the University. These partnerships connect alumni with students from the University of Illinois at Chicago through internships, professional mentoring and scholarship development initiatives — all within the context of where alumni work. Alumni and their organizations can participate as Corporate Connections members in several ways:

Corporate Coordinators: Recognizing a particular company's UIC alumni presence, corporate coordinators work with the UIAA and/or campus units to organize informal get-togethers and discuss topics relevant to work, life and college. UIC administrators, faculty and other special guests often participate. The coordinators also act as liaisons between the company's alumni employees and the Alumni Association in disseminating information on alumni events and related programs.

Corporate Tours: The Alumni Association hosts lunch and tours at companies from a variety of disciplines. This is an opportunity for students to visit companies in their future industry where they can make career connections, learn more about their future jobs, and meet successful alumni who will answer their questions.

Lunch with an Alumnus: Each year students from various majors are invited to attend monthly lunches with outstanding alumni. These lunches provide an opportunity for students to interact with alumni in their field of interest.

Alumni from the following companies have participated in these three programs:

Abbott Laboratories, Allstate, American Express, Baxter, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, Underwriters Laboratories.

Job Shadowing: This program offers CBA students an opportunity to gain exposure to the business community and decide whether a particular company or industry is a possible match for them. It also gives the company an opportunity to meet potential employees, share insights and experiences, promote their own organization, and strengthen ties to the academic community.

The University of Illinois Alumni Association's Alumni Career Center offers employers a chance to connect with experienced candidates in a wide variety of fields and industries.
