Since 1972, the University of Illinois Alumni Association
has had the privilege of honoring exceptional graduating students for their impact
as leaders of the various societies, groups and organizations at UIC. Candidates
for the Student Leadership Award are nominated by faculty members, advisers,
mentors, administrative staff and other UIC students. No more than 50 recipients
are selected every year by the UIC Campus Alumni Advisory Board (CAAB).
Eligible nominees are associated with a leadership role within one
or several UIC student organizations, volunteer services or campus departments where
a profound impact was made due to the student’s leadership efforts. Nominees
must also be in good academic standing (3.0-4.0 GPA) and receive their undergraduate,
graduate or professional degree in the spring (May 2010) or fall (December 2009).
Self-nominations are also accepted.
- The deadline for Student Leadership Award nominations is Jan. 21, 2010
- Notification for the 50 student recipients and their nominators occurs on
or before Feb. 12, 2010
- Students will be honored at the UIAA Leadership Awards on April 1, 2010,
at Student Center West
