Uchenna Onwuta, MPH ‘97
School of Public Health Alumni Association

As chief epidemiologist of the Kane County Health Department, Uchenna Onwuta is responsible for analyzing the demographics and birth, death and disease rates of county residents, in order to address their health care needs. Since 1999, she has served as member, chair and president of the School of Public Health Alumni Board. Along with encouraging SPH alumni to join the UI Alumni Association, Onwuta has increased alumni participation in campus activities, mentored graduate and professional students in SPH and developed a strategic plan for the SPH Alumni Board.
