Last week, during an Alumni Career Center webinar, we referred to an alumna who recently identified her job target and was now challenged to find new opportunities. Before the end of the webinar an alumnus who was attending the session sent along a prospective job lead!
Who are the other job seekers you’ve met as you’ve been conducting your own search? You probably also have contacts in LinkedIn or other networks who could really use a posting you just saw that isn’t a very good fit for you (after all, even when you do Advanced Searches on the Hire UI Alumni job board or other resources, there are times when a few postings come back that aren’t quite for you).
As you skim job postings send along the job posting that you can't use to the job seeker who you know would love to see it. It just takes a minute, you’ll feel really good, and you'll build your reputation as a thoughtful networker.
